Research one of the following ancient sporting events from the Greek/Roman time periods in small groups.
- Boxing/Wrestling
- Gladiatorial games
- Olympics/Pentathlon
- Equestrian (chariot and riding)
- Running, Ball games/dice/board games
You will create a brief presentation (4-6 minutes) about an ancient sporting event using ancient artworks as illustrations and visuals. You can and will use:
- Images painted on vases Mosaics
- Frescoes
- Sculpture
- Architecture
- Writings or etchings from contemporaries
Please include proper credit lines. Use "then/now" comparisons including where the sports were held. How have they evolved into modern day sports?
Presentation should immediately capture the audiences attention....somehow...up to you to be creative. Refer to the rubric.
Use a Google presentation that you can share with me (and be able to edit) to combine into one presentation for everyone. Can use a video if you must but it MUST be less than 30 seconds. It’s probably better to stay away from a video unless it’s crucial to your presentation in which...then it’s okay!
